No evening program is offered at USPCAS-E.

Yes,you can apply for PhD admission with the transcript up to last semester completed, provided you are able to submit your complete final result before commencement of classes.

You can apply for more than one programs. But you will have to pay admission application fee for each applied discipline.

No, you have to qualify GAT Subject NTS. If NTS ​ does not offer the test of that particular subject, then NUST will conduct its own GAT Subject test.

No Entry Test is conducted by NUST. However, you must qualify GAT (General) with minimum 50 raw score conducted by NTS or Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) conducted by HEC, ETC for admission in MS Programs or GRE (General) conducted by ETS, USA with acceptable score. Adequate hostel facilities are available, however not everyone can get the hostel at the time of joining. The details regarding hostel and messing charges may be access through the link.

You can apply online for the Masters Programs through NUST website: before the deadline intimated through National Newspapers and NUST website.

All MS Admission selection list once generated are uploaded on NUST website, for which notification is also indicated/ made available on NUST admission Quick Links. Moreover, SMS is also forwarded to the selected candidate on the mobile number given in the application form by candidate. It is however the responsibility of every applicant to check his/her selection status on NUST website during the month of August/Sep.

MS requires total 30 credits for successful completion of degree, including 24 credits for course work and 6 credits for thesis.

Yes, Candidate having MS/MPhil degree with CGPA > 3.0 out of 4.0 or First division are eligible to apply for admission in PhD Programs.

No, candidate has to attend NTS subject type test. If in case, NTS subject test is not offered in particular discipline then USPCAS-E will conduct PhD Admission Test.

Yes, it is mandatory to upload research proposal in PDF form. However, candidate can change/refine their proposal after admission in NUST PhD Program.

Yes, passing of relevant GAT subject test with valid score is prerequisite for find notification admission in PhD at NUST. However online application to PhD Admission can be done without GAT score, which has to be provided before start of semester classes.

The candidate must have 16 years of schooling or 04 years education after FA / FSc / A Level in the relevant field from HEC / PEC recognized Institute. Qualifying GAT / HAT / GRE / GMAT with minimum score as given in Eligibility Criteria is mandatory.

There are three major steps.
  1. Initial scrutiny of eligibility.
  2. Interview/test (if Applicable) at USPCAS-E.
  • Deliberation of recommended PhD student by Main Office, NUST.
It is also mentioned that the student can be rejected at any of the above-mentioned steps.

While applying for admission, possession of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or NICOP is mandatory. Online registration system may require attachment of documents / credentials. Minimum degree completion time is 1½ academic years (3 regular semesters), whereas maximum time is 4 years.

Admissions in PhD are advertised semi-annually for Spring semester and Fall semester.

Initial advertisement of Masters admission is published in national newspapers in the month of March / April every year. Admission process starts/ends in April every year. Exact dates can be checked from NUST website after 20th February every year.

Postgraduate classes normally start from fall semester (September).

After completion of 18 CH with CGPA 3.5 and passing Qualifying Exam A and Qualifying Exam B: Synopsis Defense.

  1. NOC from the Service HQ if serving in the Armed Forces of Pakistan / NOC from organization (If employed).
  2. Hard copy of the Research Proposal.
  3. SSC Certificate / DMC or equivalence & HSSC Certificate/DMC or equivalence.
  4. Photocopy of Bachelor’s transcripts and Degree.
  5. Photocopy of  MSc (16-year education) transcripts and degree and Photocopy of MS/MPhil (18-year education) transcript and degree (with CH details including CH of coursework + CH of thesis works) duly verified from HEC / Controller of Examination of the University.
  6. Photocopy of Domicile Certificate & Photocopy of CNIC (NADRA).
  7. HEC Equivalence for MS/MPhil (for Foreign degree)
  8. Photocopy of passport (for foreigner candidate)
  9. For International/National Students: valid Score of GRE (General) conducted by ETS, USA OR GAT-Subject test conducted by NTS OR USPCAS-E PhD Admission Test conducted by NUST (as applicable)

Candidate(s) admitted to USPCAS-E are eligible to apply for financial aid at the time of admission offered by the NUST. USPCAS-E itself does not offer any scholarship.
