Dr. Waqar Khalid earned his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics from the Department of Economics at Islamia College University, Peshawar (ICUP), Pakistan, in 2011, graduating with distinction and receiving a Gold Medal. He continued his academic journey with a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Economics from the School of Economics (SOE) at Quaid-I-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2016, where he ranked among the top three students in the department. Dr. Khalid was awarded the prestigious Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel postgraduate scholarship and completed his doctorate (Ph.D.) in International Economics from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Near East University (NEU), Nicosia, Northern Cyprus, in 2023, where he graduated at the top of his class. In addition to his educational accomplishments, Dr. Khalid has served as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor in Economics at various public and private universities in Pakistan and Northern Cyprus. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy Systems and Engineering (ESE) at the U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan.
